What are we
doing this week?
|
|
HORN
·
This week in Math we will
begin our very first menu! Students will be introduced to the process of math
menu learning how it is structured and how they will be graded. Students will
glue in the structure of math menu as well as the rubric for menu in their
math journals for later reference. We will begin our very first menu problem
on Tuesday.
·
We will finish up our 7
habits book for display this week. Starting Wednesday and Thursday we will
introduce the scientific method and get excited to learn what Science is and
how Scientist study the world around them!

WOODS
·
This week we conclude our
unit on Map Skills
·
We continue to review
subjects, predicates, the 4 types of sentences, and common and proper nouns
in language.
· Students will also receive
a new spelling list that focuses on words with the v/cv long vowel open
accented syllable pattern, ; /j/ spelled (dge); and contractions . Students can also use our
Spelling City website to help them practice their spelling words! Here’s the
link: spellingcity.com/paine3. We are currently on the Unit 1 Lesson 3 list.

HOMEWORK
|
|
-Students must read for 20 minutes each
night & record the number of pages they have read in the Agenda/Husky Pad.
Remember, we are now having students to log their at home reading in the very
last section of the Agenda. Students should be recording the title of the
book they read and the pages they’ve read.
HORN:
Students must complete 30 minutes of Dreambox this week at home. Additional
(low amount of problems) homework may be given if the teacher sees the need
for practice of a particular skill. Remember Dreambox records time from
Sunday to Saturday.

Tests
HORN: We will
begin math menu. When students complete they will be graded on it (usually
takes about a full week) with a rubric that they are given.
WOODS:
Spelling Test will be moved to FRIDAY; Vocabulary Quiz on Friday

additional map and globe conceps such as latitude, longitude, cardinal
directions, and intermediate directions etc.

Students will practice identifying
their state, country, county, and continent on maps.

Students will practice
writing their complete address correctly.

Continue original Narrative Writing pieces!
