WOODS
·
This week we begin a unit
on features of nonfiction text! It is our goal in this unit to lead students
to notice the different features that are included in a nonfiction text such
as captions, glossaries, and graphs to name a few. Students will become
familiar with the correct terminology for these features and use those
features to aid their understanding of various nonfiction texts!
·
We will discuss different
types of nouns including plurals, common, and proper nouns in language.
·
Students will also receive
a new spelling list that focuses on words with long (a) sound with ai and ay
spellings, examples= Spain and gray.. We will also practice spelling words with
the long (e) sound at the end with a (y) spelling, example=candy. l. Here’s the Spelling City link for
practice: spellingcity.com/paine3. We are currently on the Unit 1 Lesson 4
list.

night & record the number of pages they have read in the Agenda/Husky Pad.
Remember, we are now having students to log their at home reading in the very
last section of the Agenda. Students should be recording the title of the
book they read and the pages they’ve read.
HORN:
Students must complete 30 minutes of Dreambox this week at home. Additional
(low amount of problems) homework may be given if the teacher sees the need
for practice of a particular skill. Remember Dreambox records time from
